Science Olympiad
Middle SchoolI first joined Science Olympiad in 6th grade, and immediately grew a strong passion for engineering, physics, and mathematics-related events. I formed some of my most important connections and friendships through this club in middle school that I've continued to value even now. The club quickly grew into something I cared deeply for and spent a great amount of time on.

VarsityAfter my experience on the team in middle school, Science Olympiad was the first club I joined during my freshman year in high school. I was placed on the junior varsity team for engineering, physics, and mathematics-heavy events. After showing commitment, work ethic, and high placements, I was placed on our state varsity team roster. I ended up placing at the top of our team as a freshman, taking home two silver medals.

CaptainshipAs I was a consistently strong varsity team member who portrayed student leadership qualities, I became a captain of the high school Science Olympiad team in my junior year. This meant organizing and mentoring our V, JV, and JV2 teams, leading weekly meetings, and working with faculty to lead the team, all the while still medalling in the five events I was on. This year, with an adjusted leadership structure, I will be serving as a head captain of the team. Science Olympiad is by far my favorite club at school, and I continue to invest a great deal of time and effort into it.
